Website Idea

For my website I am going to create a page for my mother’s business 'The Framing Quilt and Craft Shop'. It is a craft shop in a little town called Te Aroha. They have a range of crafts in the shop from framing, quilting, and paper crafts to cake tin and costume hire. The website will not be for people to purchase from, but it will be set up so people will have all their details to ring or email to place an order. It will be focused around the exhibitions they do at shows like the Hamilton Quilt and Craft show. It will be set up so they can show new customers what is possible for them to make or to show them what other stock they have at the shop.

I want to aim the website more for ipad and desktop as I feel that is where it will be mostly used, for example the ipad version will be used by the employees of the shop at shows and the desktop will be used by their customers at home. I am aware that there won't be a big change so I will just move the menu to change this.

To answer the data visualization part of the brief i will stick in a countdown in the next show as they do one every 3 months or so. i will also put in a twitter feed or a facebook feed as they don't currently have or use twitter

hip hip hooray menu

This is is the menu layouts for the hip hip hooray page the left one is the large desk top menu and the right is the mobile menu the ipad version is the same as the mobile.
all the menus have a collapsible  this works nicely but i feel with how many options they have they should have made one close when another was opened as the page ends up being longer than the content on the page.

hip hip hooray

i loved this page it is fun and playful and is the best looking craftish site i have come across as most the other ones i have come across are either poorly made or the content wasn't kept up to date

cool responsive design

web

this page was a every fun and playful the interactions were great when you scroll down the pencil shavings went down and the pencil went up and scrolled on to the next page.

which was also interactive and i fell i could bring into my own work this page looked like they were just static images but once you moved the mouse over them they came up with the green layer over top with the information about the page.

Ipad

in the ipad/tablet layout most of the interactive properties have been taken away and are just images with text they have also taken away the menu and placed it in a drop down menu in the corner.

Mobile

and here again the has just changed to stacking the layout on top of each other.
